{"id":491,"date":"2011-11-03T08:17:12","date_gmt":"2011-11-03T02:47:12","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-11-03T08:17:12","modified_gmt":"2011-11-03T02:47:12","slug":"changing-momentum-of-gst-still-more-to-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodsandservicetax.in\/GST\/?p=491","title":{"rendered":"CHANGING MOMENTUM OF GST: STILL MORE TO DO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CHANGING MOMENTUM OF GST: STILL MORE TO DO<br \/>By: &#8211; Nagesh Bajaj<br \/>Goods and Services Tax &#8211; GST<br \/>Dated:- 3-11-2011<\/p>\n<p>When a ray of hope is coming in the successful implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST),suddenly a momentum changes in favour of those who are strictly opposing the rolling out of the GST.<br \/>\nIn the last meeting of the Empowered Group of State Finance Ministers on GST to thrash out all pending issues , three major issues arises in front of the Government , with several states giving a thumbs-down to the draft Constitutional Amendment Bill prepared by the Centre.<br \/>\nThese major issues are:<br \/>\n1. Veto Power: In this meeting , states ruled by political parties other than the Congress came out openly against the proposal <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">=  =  =  =  =  =  =  =<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Plain text (Extract) only<\/strong><BR>For full text:-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.taxtmi.com\/article\/detailed?id=1495\">Visit the Source <\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">=  =  =  =  =  =  =  =<\/p>\n<p> part of the Constitution Amendment Bill and may be incorporated in GST Legislation.<br \/>\n3. Petroleum Products: Another major issue is relating to the Petroleum products. Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee suggestion to include petroleum products within the GST ambit has underlined the need for a fresh discussion paper on the GST.
